Setting Up the Shoot

On the day of the shoot, we arrived at AOU Studios in Nottingham, ready to create engaging content for KUIHI. We set up two different backdrops, both of which related back to the company’s colors to maintain brand consistency. Our typical process includes:

Backdrop Selection: We usually choose three different backdrops to provide variety and flexibility in the final edit. These can range from seamless studio backdrops to more casual settings like coffee shops or sofas.

Interview Execution: Filming each set of interview questions in front of all the backdrops. This approach allows us to mix and match clips, ensuring a dynamic and visually interesting final product.

Spontaneous Responses

One of the keys to creating engaging interview content is capturing authentic responses. We advise against strict scripting as it can make the interview feel rigid and less genuine. Instead, we focus on:

Editing for Engagement

In post-production, our editor, Assad, plays a crucial role in shaping the final video. The editing process involves:

  • Aligning with Audio: Kristen meticulously edits the footage to align with the audio, ensuring a seamless and engaging flow.

  • Dynamic Movement: Incorporating dynamic movements and transitions to maintain viewer interest.

  • Storytelling: Crafting a compelling narrative by rearranging clips to create a cohesive story that resonates with the audience.

Call to Action and Engagement

Filming Call to Actions

At the end of the interview sessions, we capture various call-to-action clips. These are crucial for encouraging viewer engagement and include prompts like:

  • Follow Us: Encouraging viewers to follow KUIHI on social media.

  • Click the Link in Bio: Directing traffic to their website or specific landing pages.

  • Comment and DM: Inviting viewers to engage by commenting or sending direct messages for more information.

Post-Shoot Process

After the shoot, we upload all the footage to a shared drive for the client to review, although many clients prefer to leave the editing in our capable hands. Assad then creates a rough cut of the entire shoot, which we refine into final, polished videos.
